At letgo, I was responsible for App Store and Google Play graphics and screenshots. We were consistently testing new variations and updates for optimum performance. Tests varied between something as simple as a background color change to complete layout overhauls while maintaining company branding. The idea is to improve upon the “control” screenshots and learn what works and what doesn’t – my best performing test brought an approximate 11% increase in app downloads!
Upon having a new screenshots test winner, I’d create the required multiple App Store iPhone size screens, iPad screens, update our paid search screens, and then sometimes translate screens across 15 different countries. We also test separately from US for the Turkish market.
